Audiology
Communication disorders affect nearly 10 percent of the U.S. population and can have drastic consequences on the emotional and social development of a child. Many children, for a variety of reasons, never get the professional help they need to correct a hearing or speech problem.
Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital Audiology Services offer comprehensive, expert evaluation and management of various degrees of hearing loss in infants, children and adolescents (ages 0-21). Early identification and intervention of a hearing impairment is crucial for the development and enhancement of communication skills.
All tests are performed using state-of-the-art audiological equipment and procedures to assess hearing disorders, provide guidance to families of children with hearing loss and make recommendations for appropriate care.
