Schroth Method

The Schroth method is a physical therapy treatment approach for individuals with scoliosis and kyphosis. The treatment is conducted by a trained physical therapist who has received a formal certification in the method. It incorporates specific exercises and corrective breathing techniques to elongate the trunk and promote muscular balance and optimal alignment. The goals of this program are to:
- Promote increased knowledge of scoliosis and kyphosis
- Improve spinal alignment, back symmetry and muscular balance
- Facilitate curve stabilization
- Address related pain or discomfort
- Prolong or limit the need for surgical intervention
- Teach and promote adherence to a strong home exercise program
Caregivers and patients can expect a comprehensive initial evaluation, development of a treatment plan, hands-on instruction, as well as a strong home exercise program. We have a designated private space in our Ability Center in which we provide this treatment method.
