Baltimore, MD (July 17) —The Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital Board of Trustees (Hospital Board) and the Mt. Washington Pediatric Foundation, Inc. (MWPF - Foundation Board) recently announced its newly elected trustees to their respective boards. Drs. Dana D. Farrakhan and Aaron Rabinowitz have been appointed to the Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital (MWPH) Hospital Board of Trustees, the hospital’s governing board. Jessica Markison and Kristina Meier have been appointed to the Foundation Board, the hospital’s advisory board.  Confirmed by the Hospital Board at its annual meeting, these new trustees will help further the hospital’s mission to provide support for the highest quality patient care programs for infants, children, and adolescents.

 

In addition, Andrea Brown Gee, immediate past 1st Vice Chair of the Foundation Board, has been confirmed as its first Black chairperson in MWPF’s history.

Andrea Brown Gee, MA

Andrea was first appointed to the MWPF in 2019. She is a seasoned senior executive and most recently served as the Executive Director for the Black Mental Health Alliance in Baltimore.  Andrea served in several leadership roles at the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. Those roles included Strategic Planning, Membership Development and Training. In her role as Director of Internal Affairs, Andrea provided oversight for affiliate chapters across the country and those on military installations in Germany and Japan.

 

Dana D. Farrakhan, DrPH, MHS, FACHE

Dr. Farrakhan is Senior Vice President, Strategy, Community and Business Development for University of Maryland Medical Center. In this capacity, she is responsible for strategic planning; clinical program and business development; community health improvement; community engagement; and local hiring/career academy. She began her tenure at University of Maryland Medical Center in 1994.

 

Jessica Markison, MBA, RN, BSN

Jessica has been a part of the Ravens organization since the team’s first year in Baltimore (1996). After serving in a variety of capacities in the player personnel department, she moved to the Ravens legal department in 2019 and is currently the Senior Director of Compliance and Risk Management. As a registered nurse, Jessica has worked part-time at two Baltimore-area hospitals: Union Memorial Hospital and Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital. She has served on the planning committee for MWPH’s fundraising golf tournament from 2017-23.

 

Kristina Meier

Kristina is a patient parent, cuddler, donor, volunteer, and friend to the hospital. She works as a Senior Client Advocate for Willis Towers Watson Southeast Inc., a global insurance brokerage firm. She is the founder of Walking with Grace, which started four years ago as a lemonade stand and has grown to become an outdoor family activity generating more than $35,000 annually for MWPH. Kristina also serves as auction chair for the 2025 Storybook Gala.

 

Aaron Rabinowitz, JD, PhD, MS

Dr. Rabinowitz leads the University of Maryland Medical System's legal team and provides guidance on all legal initiatives. He advises on corporate governance, corporate and commercial transactions, litigation, employment, regulatory matters, intellectual property and other aspects of system development and integration. He plays a critical role in the strategic leadership of the System and works closely with the executive leadership team and board of directors to help set and implement UMMS' overall strategic direction. Prior to joining UMMS, Dr. Rabinowitz worked as an antitrust economic consultant, a health policy advisor on Capitol Hill and in private practice as a healthcare attorney.
