Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital’s (MWPH) annual Storybook Gala took a different, yet successful, form this year due to the pandemic. On November 19-21, “A Spoonful of Storybook Celebration” provided a virtual event to supporters in the community, which included a silent auction, raffle and livestreaming dance party with nationally-known DJ Kopec. A large crowd of supporters participated in the three-day event which raised more than $390,000 (net) for the hospital.

The Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital (MWPH) Board of Trustees has announced two new members, Margaret R. Moon, MD, MPH, Associate Professor of Pediatrics, and Mark R. Marcantano, JD, Chief Administrative Officer at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center.

The Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital Board of Trustees (Hospital Board) and the Mt. Washington Pediatric Foundation, Inc. (Foundation) announced newly elected trustees to their respective boards.

On November 4, a lively and gracious group of community supporters from around the Baltimore area gathered for the 9^th Annual Storybook Gala. The event, benefiting Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital (MWPH), raised $447,000 (net)—the most funds raised in the event’s history.

The Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital Board of Trustees welcomed Peter Mancino, deputy general counsel of The Johns Hopkins Health System ("Hopkins") to its board, following G. Daniel Shealer's retirement. Mr. Shealer, who had held board leadership positions including chair, retired from Hopkins where he served as Senior Vice President & General Counsel.

Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital (MWPH) recently announced the retirement of its Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and Vice President of Medical Affairs, Richard Katz, MD, MBA, FAAP. His more than 20 years of dedicated service has enabled MWPH to evolve from a long-term nursing facility for children to a state-of-the-art, pediatric post-intensive care and multidisciplinary rehabilitation center of excellence.
